Interlibrary Loan

If we don't have it, we will try to get it for you!

If Perth East Public Library or any other library in Perth County doesn’t own what you want, PEPL staff will try to borrow it from another library through Interlibrary Loan.

All library materials requested on interlibrary loans are subject to the availability and interlibrary loan policies of the lending libraries. Borrowers require a valid PEPL library card to make an interlibrary loan request.

  • Check the library catalogue first. If we do not have the item you would like, submit an Interlibrary Loan request or ask staff to assist you in processing your request.
  • Books, audiobooks, and articles may be requested.
  • DVDs, VHS tapes, music CDs, entire issues of periodicals and items published in the last 24 months may not be requested.
  • Physical materials will only be requested from Canadian libraries.
  • We will contact you once your item(s) have arrived or if your request cannot be filled. Interlibrary loans must be picked up within 7 days of arrival.
  • PEPL's interlibrary loan system is only available to PEPL cardholders whose home library is PEPL.
  • Items returned late are subject to a fine of $1.00 per day late.
  • Perth County residents who do not hold a PEPL card are asked to request ILL service from their local library system within the Perth County Information Network (PCIN). Those living outside of Perth County are asked to request ILL service from their local library system.
  • Interlibrary loans take from 1 – 6 weeks to arrive.
  • Requests for renewal must be made at least 5 days before the due date and are granted subject to the approval of the lending library.
  • Please contact the Stratford-Perth Archives to order microfilm from the Ontario Archive
  • PEPL cardholders may request up to 2 Interlibrary Loans each week and must be requested from the PEPL library (their home library).
Borrowers require a valid PEPL library card and must live in Perth County to make an interlibrary loan request. Members who have a card at another PCIN library are asked to request ILLO service at their home library. Any ILLO requests made at PEPL must be picked up and dropped off at PEPL.

Simply fill out our Interlibrary Loan request form below and we will do our best to get the item in for you.
