Submit by October 16th
Spooky Story Contest - Finish the story "My next-door neighbor has always been a mysterious figure. She began to reveal her secrets on Halloween night…" and bring your submissions into the library! With your permission, we will share the submissions on our website and social media and have a binder in the library with printouts!
You can either bring in a physical copy of your submission or email us your story at pertheast@gmail.com.
October 24th
Author Visit 6:30-7:30pm - Kate Pawson Studer is coming to PEPL to discuss her book, her job as an editor and will do a reading! Call PEPL (519-595-8395) to register. A ticket is 5 dollars.
October 25th
DIY Make a Spooky Book 6:30 - Get crafty and spoookky by making a spooky book with us! This program is free of charge and there are a limited number of spots. Please call PEPL (519-595-8395) to register. Please note: this event is for teens and adults, not intended for children.
Enter Your Ballots by November 25th
Fall into Reading with PEPL - Read as many books as you can during the months of October and November! For every 10 books you read, you will receive 1 ballot for your chance to win 1 of 2 Usborne Advent Calendar Book Collections. Prizes generously donated by Oak Tree Financial Milverton.
Monday
Play and Learn by Early On Weekly at 9:30-11:30am - Children birth to age 6 with their parent/caregiver: A safe play environment which allows children to explore & create with new materials, play alongside other children & learn to express their thoughts and feelings through social interactions
Yarn and Things 10-12pm - Ever wanted to have company while you craft? Well now you can! Come out to Yarn and Things, a weekly meeting for crafters alike! Please bring your own materials and there will be no staff assistance provided, this is simply meant to be a time to socialize with community members while engaging in a similar passion.
Tuesday
Sing to Me: Every Tuesday at 10-10:45am - Sing to Me is back for the fall! Join Pastor Sonja for a song-based program on Tuesday mornings!
Afternoon Book Club: Every 3rd Tuesday at 1-2pm - Afternoon book club features a variety of book selection and great conversation with Cindy and other book club members. Call PEPL at 519-595-8395, talk to a staff at the front desk or email us at pel@pertheastpl.ca to sign up!
Evening Book Club: Every 3rd Tuesday at 7-8pm - Evening book club also offers an array of selection and is great for people who can't make it to the library in the afternoon. Call PEPL at 519-595-8395, talk to a staff at the front desk or email us at pel@pertheastpl.ca to sign up!

Wednesday
Sewcial Group: Alternating Saturday's (10-12pm) and Wednesday's (5:30-7:30) Every other week (October 4th, October 21st, November 1st, November 18th and November 29th) - Join other sewer's to share new tricks, learn new skills and socialize all while doing your shared hobby, sewing! Please note: PEPL will not supply materials or equipment and there will be no staff assistance provided.
Thursday
Community Career Centre by appointment with Jay (jbodrog@conestoga.on.ca / 515-591-5735) - To meet with Jay, please make an appointment by contacting him. The Career Centre at Conestoga is your one stop for personalized support. Services and resources are available at no cost to the job seeker or graduate.
YMCA Settlement Services Every 4th Thursday of the month at 9:30-1pm (August 24th, September 28th, October 26th, November 23rd & December 28th) - This free service provides immigrants all the help and support they need to begin their new lives in Canada.
Baby Time by Early On Weekly at 11:30-1:30pm - Infants birth to 12mos of age: A time for parents/caregivers to find support & encouragement from their peers and EarlyON Facilitators in a safe and welcoming environment. This program will feature an engaging circle, giving infant and adult the time to delight together and find creative ways to use songs and puppets alongside developmental milestones!
Lego Challenge Weekly from 4:00-7:30pm - Stop in each Thursday night to try your hand a new LEGO challenge! If you wish, bring your creations to the front desk for a photo and we will post them on social media. Please note, there will be no staff supervision.
Saturday
