Book Club Kits
What is KitKeeper?
It can be hard for a book club to find enough copies for all their members at the same time; so let the library help!
KitKeeper is a catalogue of book club kits you can check out using your library card. With these kits your club can borrow copies of a book all at the same time in one convenient bag.
How it works:
Sign into KitKeeper using your PCIN library card (Stratford, St Mary's, West Perth, Perth East or North Perth).
Using the KitKeeper scheduling software, clubs can check on kit availability and book up to a year in advance. There are currently over 150 titles available!
Kits Include:
- 10 Copies of the book
- 1 Reading Guide
- Kit Bag
*The Book Club Kit will be checked out on the library card of the person picking up the bag. That person assumes responsibility for the bag and all its contents.
Kit Information:
Pickup is during Perth East Public Library hours.
Loan Period is a default of 5 weeks.
Book Club Kits cannot be renewed in order to ensure that the set is available for use by other book clubs.
Late Charges will be $1.00 per day per kit.
The late fees are applied to the card of the person who signed out the kit.
Missing Books – A replacement cost will be charged for each missing item of a kit owned by Perth East Public Library, dependent on the cost of the missing/damaged item. This fee can be seen in the catalogue and will be assessed by the library. A processing fee of $5 applies to any replacement copy.
Kits owned by PCIN member libraries may have alternate replacement fees.
Lost Bag – if a kit bag is lost, there will be a $10 replacement fee. If an entire kit is lost, the replacement fee is the total cost of the items plus a $10 processing fee.
Returns – Book Club Kits must be returned together as one unit, with all books and resources inside, as they were checked out.
A Book Club Kit will not be checked in unless all books and resources are inside.
